Planning Permission Update 14 October 2012

We sent an enquiry to the Council on Wednesday (10th October) regarding the progress of our planning application (Application: 12/0719 /FUL, Twickenham Pool Site, The Embankment).

We wrote:

‘Our understanding is that all the information requested by you has been provided.

‘However we are concerned, despite correspondence, that what we consider important, letters and submissions explaining our proposals in more detail in response to comments, have not yet appeared on the Planning website , thus giving an incorrect impression of our modified proposals to the public.

‘Clearly, it would be helpful to have some information on the progress of the above application, particularly as we are anxious to pursue our funding options which are dependant on this permission.

‘With regard to the existing toilet block we are aware that there have been negotiations with F& C Reit concerning the adjoining car park site and the outline TAAP proposals and as an interested party we would welcome information on these matters.’

Background.

TRTG’s ultimate goal is to see that all, or as much as possible, of the buildings and land adjacent  to the Diamond Jubilee Gardens (the former ‘pool site’) is refurbished and or developed for the community.

We are currently considering further action to support and strengthen our case for continued and much improved community use of the site.

The cost of applying for planning permission, etc , is being funded by the Twickenham Riverside Trust with money donated by the RFU.
