The planning application for the Twickenham Swimming Pool Site 09/0914/FUL after nearly two years of deliberations has at last been accepted for consideration, and will now be considered at the:
Planning Meeting on Thursday 3 February 2011
Venue: The Salon, York House, Richmond Road, Twickenham
Time: 6.30 pm.
This planning application would if it were approved and permission were to be given by Richmond Council as land owners, provide a way for the community trust that is being set up to restore this land to public open space use, and help satisfy the social need in Twickenham by creating a centre of community use, and activity. Providing an amenity green space in the centre of Twickenham that will enable the beneficial use of this unique Riverside land by all ages and contribute to the mutual well being of the community as a whole. This planning application, improves and extends the existing public use of the site in order to benefit all ages of the community.
TRTG appreciates the overwhelming support by the community to date for this application and their patience during the drawn out negotiations. Your continued support for this application is still needed so that the Council is in no doubt of the strength and determination of community purpose to move forward and implement these proposals for the land and buildings, and secure a lasting amenity for future generations.
